Diocese of Boise

Campaign Timeline

What is Called by Name?

The goal of the diocesan-wide Called by Name campaign is to identify faithful teens and young men who may have a call to the priesthood. All parishioners are invited to submit the names and contact information of those in their community they believe would be open to learning more about the priesthood.

It’s no secret that the diocese is in need of more priests, and this campaign seeks to address this shortage. Boise’s Vocation Office wants to connect with as many faithful young men as possible so they can offer guidance in discernment, resources, and most importantly, the chance to learn what the priesthood is really like.

  • Bishop Christensen is asking all parishes to participate.
  • Parishioners will be asked to submit the names of teens and young men.
  • Parishioners can use pew cards to write down names, or they can scan the QR code on the cards to submit names online.
  • The Vocation Office will offer encouragement and mentorship to these young men and invite them to discernment events.
